Duties and obligations of the officers of the Brampton Tennis Club
During 1996 and 1997, the Executive Committee consisted of 5 members – President, Past President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. They were the Executive Officers of the Corporation. The other Sub-Committee chiefs were “Chairpersons” of the committees they headed.
Approval of an amendment to By-Law #4 at the 1997 Annual General Meeting, added 4 Club Chairpersons to the Executive Committee. This increased the number of Executive Officers to nine. The four were: Membership, ICTA Teams, Social and Junior Development. The heads of the remaining sub-committees continued as “Chairpersons”.
In 1997, a new sub-committee was formed – the Sunday (Social) Round Robin Committee. The Club’s Historian’s position was added to the Job Description as was a summary of the Board of Directors’ duties. The Job Description was updated in 2003 and the Executive recommended that the Grounds Chairperson’s position be moved to the Executive Committee, to become the 10th Officer. These changes were to be approved by the Directors/Executives and ratified at the 2003 Annual General Meeting.
